A Day in the Life:

Bunge Canada is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grain Grader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for grading and documenting incoming canola seed deliveries, as well as operating receiving and cleaning equipment. You’ll ensure all activities are performed in compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining seed quality, supporting a high level of housekeeping and efficient plant operations.

Position Details:

  • Pay range: $33 - $35 per hour
  • Rotating Shift Schedule: This position operates on a three-week rotating schedule:
    • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
    • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
    • Week 3: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Grade incoming raw canola seed deliveries accurately and in accordance with Bunge Canada’s quality standards.
  • Weigh, sample, and establish dockage for seed deliveries.
  • Maintain proper documentation and retain samples as required.
  • Accurately perform grain data functions using company software.
  • Identify heated or damaged seed and communicate details to the appropriate departments.
  • Operate and monitor seed elevator equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform minor maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following housekeeping standards.
  • Lock out and isolate equipment safely for maintenance work.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with seed delivery drivers and coworkers.
  • Support the coordination between the Grain Department and production to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Participate in clean-up duties and support a team-oriented work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous agricultural, grain grading or handling experience is a strong asset.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • Ability to lift 22.7 kg (50 lbs.) repeatedly.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for grading accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Commitment to workplace safety, integrity, and teamwork.
