The Manager of Total Rewards is accountable for the development of a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns employee rewards with results that support the organization's objectives. The total rewards strategy and programs enable the organization to attract, reward, and retain top talent. This role serves as part of the HR leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Leads and develops a team of compensation, benefits, HRIS and payroll professionals
- Leads compensation strategy development for the organisation by recommending programs, sales and variable compensation designs including bonus programs, and long-term incentive programs
- Ensures that compensation programs are effectively deployed and are competitive, updated and compliant with relevant legislation
- Develops the budget for total rewards programs and initiatives and leads cost-benefit analysis of programs and initiatives
- Maintains job descriptions and job evaluation systems in partnership with key stakeholders
- Designs, implements, and maintains a base pay structure that balances market competitiveness with internal job worth, in alignment with the compensation surveys, identifying appropriate market sources and drawing out insights from the data
- Manages the annual compensation cycles, including compensation review process, program evaluations, ensuring budget adherence and summarizing information for stakeholder presentations
- Researches and analyzes relevant government regulations and industry best practices
- Monitors and performs metrics for the HRIS and payroll centers, implementing regular improvements based on data and employee feedback
- Manages vendor partner relationships. Includes resolving system issues, managing system upgrades, and maintaining data integrity standards
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Total Rewards including pay equity, compensation, pay structure design and development, Short term/Long Term incentive programs and benefit programs
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Proficiency with HR systems (eg. Ceridian, ADP, Workday, UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- HR Certification (CHRL, CHRP)
- 5-7 years of People Leadership experience
- Experience using financial software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and evidence-based approach to decision-making and influencing.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
