Job Description: WE’RE LOOKING FOR A MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION MANAGER POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO The Manufacturing Production Manager reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of manufacturing production, while ensuring the delivery of on cost, on quality and on time parts to internal and external stakeholders. The Manufacturing Production Manager is also responsible to continually develop employees and processes to support AHCA being the Center of Excellence for Composite Manufacturing within Airbus. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESManagement & Coordination
- Responsible for the production activities in accordance with the Master Production Schedule while achieving TCOs and KPIs such as:
- On Time Delivery
- On Time Quality/Right First Time
- Production hourly rate
- Non-productive time bookings (indirect hours)
- Program Hours/Product Cost
- Premium Freight
- Development of production schedules and recovery plans.
- Liaise with supporting departments to ensure smooth production flow and escalate roadblocks to meet customer deadlines and company KPIs.
- Identify risks and opportunities to develop mitigation plans for risks and actions plans for opportunities.
- Monitor production capacity and workload to ensure correct staffing levels.
- Ensure regular and accurate reporting of metrics to Management/Leadership/Executive Team.
- Responsible for the health, safety and working environment of all employees and the identification and remediation of safety hazards or unsafe practices.
- Ensure all Manufacturing employees are trained for success and training methodology is adequate to address recognized needs and deficiencies.
- Maintain a tour ready and compliant production environment at all times (5S Practices / FOD Awareness)
- Support the process of new business or changes to existing business and their overall effect on the current manufacturing processes, equipment, and capacity.
- Development and adherence to manufacturing departmental budgets.
- Regular customer interactions with respect to delivery and schedules
- Responsible for fostering a team environment demonstrated behaviours in alignment with the Airbus values.
- Lead and mentor Production Supervisors for productivity and safety improvements.
- Development and sustainment of a culture that promotes compliance, safety, security, communication, trust, innovation and problem solving.
- Completion of annual performance reviews, goal setting, development talks and key training for all team members.
- Monitor and control the employees’ performances, attendance, time clocking conformance and overtime.
- A degree from an accredited post secondary institution in Engineering (Industrial Mechanical, Manufacturing), Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred.
- Certification as PMP (Project Management Professional), CSMP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) is an asset.
- 7-10 years experience in a Production Management role.
- 5 years experience in either an Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated management experience and exhibited leadership skills.
- General AS9100 knowledge.
- Experience with EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge base of all composite and metallic manufacturing processes.
- Experience with painting and the painting process.
- Ability to set priorities and undertake initiative to time sensitive demands & deadlines.
- Proven ability to lead, engage and motivate team members.
- Strong ability to resolve conflict and common problems through independent action and judgement.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Customer focused & Business oriented mind set and approach.
- Project management mind set to manage expectations and risks.
- Contributes insight, creative and innovative ideas.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Bilingualism (French-English) / (German-English) is an asset.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
- SAP Extended user (inventory and stock management, time booking adjustments, labour reports and queries).
- Exposure and understanding of metrology and quality operations is an asset.
