Come and join our global team as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Collaboration Scientist to maintain academic, clinical and technical expertise – collaborating both with internal development teams and research partners for the development, comprehensive evaluation, and testing of PET-MRI. This role will be working as an on-site scientist serving collaboration activities at the Lawson Research Institute, London, Ontario, Canada, primarily covering PET-MRI topics however also covering general Siemens MRI collaboration topics at the site. This is a 5-year term.

Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. This role will be working as an on-site scientist serving collaboration activities at the Lawson Research Institute, London, Ontario, Canada, primarily covering PET-MRI topics however also covering general Siemens MRI collaboration topics at the site. This is a 5-year term.
As an MRI Collaboration Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing research and development support for our customers at Lawson Research Institute, in Canada and collaborating Academic Hospitals
- Participating in academic and clinical research at/and for, Lawson Research Institute
- Developing new MRI techniques and algorithms, PET imaging, joint reconstruction and motion correction strategies
- Providing logistical support to research customers including negotiation and maintenance of project agreements
- Performing regular quality testing
- Managing and maintaining C2Ps and WIPs
- You excel in a work environment that is built upon exceptional standards
- Demonstrate expertise in PET-MRI physics, techniques and clinical applications
- Possess strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Have excellent teaching skills and a proactive can-do attitude
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Imaging Physics or equivalent
- Experience and expertise in PET/MRI physics, techniques and clinical applications, ideally in the Siemens Biograph mMR platform and in the E7 Tools environment
- Proficiency in hybrid PET/MRI imaging, including image reconstruction and analysis, and motion correction techniques
- Knowledge of PET/MRI data and network structure for the Siemens Biograph mMR platform is an asset
- Expertise in software programming, algorithm development, and application design for medical imaging. Knowledge of machine learning applications for image reconstruction is also an asset.
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python for image processing, machine learning, segmentation, and registration (experience programming with Julia is preferred but not required)
- Expertise in MRI system vendor pulse sequence programming and image reconstruction tools, ideally on the Siemens platform
- Expertise in DICOM network protocol and data management would be an asset
- Expertise in Multinuclear applications and RF coil design is an asset.
- Experience with in vivo MRI work and histology would be an asset.
- Outstanding scientific writing, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a collaborative research environment
