Packaging Technician
Location: Winnipeg
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor, our ideal candidates is a self-starter who takes
initiative, displays problem-solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and
can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
in a full-scale production environment
• Responsible for general housekeeping of packaging area: Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness in work area
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Weigh, record, and move waste product to the destruction cage in accordance with outlined SOP’s
• Report any issues to shift lead or supervisor
• Cleaning and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
• Optimize production and packaging related SOP’s
• Minimize daily product waste, such as consumables, labels, pouches, gummies, etc.
• Utilize a proactive approach as it relates to daily operation, maintenance, adjustments, cleaning, and
planning for success
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Strong sense of work quality and safety
• Effortlessly takes direction and follows through on tasks
• Capable of working both independently and on a team
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in food manufacturing and/or in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
would be considered an asset
• Previous packaging experience would be considered an asset
• Keen eye for detail, basic math skills required
• Ability to meeting physical demands including reaching, bending, walking, standing and
performing repetitive work
