RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The Garzia lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our research program focused on pediatric sarcomas. The successful candidate will lead projects investigating the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying resistance and metastasis, utilizing both in vitro and in vivo model systems, as well as patient-derived samples.

Our laboratory specializes in cutting-edge functional genomics approaches at both the bulk and single-cell level. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment with access to state-of-the-art technologies and resources.

General Duties

  • Design and perform studies, analyze data,
  • Supervise and train students,
  • Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts and grant applications,
  • Present work at internal, local, national and international meetings.

Education / Experience

  • A Ph.D. in molecular biology, cancer biology, genomics, or a related field achieved in the last two years (2023 the earliest),
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to ChIP-seq and whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS),
  • Experience with data analysis related to epigenetics is considered a strong asset.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. (Consult McGill University’s Minimum Funding Policy for Postdoctoral fellows)

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
