Your Mission:

As a Process Engineer for our Extrusion department, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing operations, driving innovation, and ensuring Signature Aluminum stays ahead of the curve in the highly competitive aluminum extrusion industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Development and Optimization:

Design, implement, and refine cutting-edge extrusion Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve productivity, consistency, and quality.

Analyze production data, conduct root cause analysis of variances, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance process performance. Lead cross-functional collaborations with quality, maintenance, and production teams to identify and implement technology upgrades.

  1. Process Monitoring and Control:

Set up and oversee real-time key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor critical extrusion stages, ensuring adherence to quality and efficiency standards. Conduct regular audits to confirm compliance with operational and safety protocols.

Troubleshoot process deviations, leverage Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools, and implement corrective actions to maintain consistency.

2.Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

Spearhead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects to improve operational efficiency and minimize material waste. Drive cost-saving initiatives focused on optimizing material yield, reducing downtime, and increasing throughput.

Mentor and train team members on process improvement methodologies to cultivate a continuous improvement culture.

3. Advanced Project Management:

Develop and manage detailed project plans, including cost estimates, timelines, and risk assessments, ensuring on-time delivery.

Prepare RFQs and coordinate with external vendors for fabricators, equipment suppliers, and contractors during process upgrades.

4. Leadership and Team Development:

Provide technical guidance and support to production teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Train production staff on new processes and procedural changes, ensuring alignment with best practices.


What Sets You Apart:

  • Educational Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical preferred) OR a diploma from a certified college with exceptional experience in aluminum extrusion.
  • Advanced certifications, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or Kaizen, are strong assets.
  • Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years in process engineering, ideally within aluminum extrusion or similar environments with large hydraulic presses is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of extrusion technology, including die design, billet preparation, and press operations.
  • Familiarity with advanced process monitoring and control systems, such as PLCs, SCADA, sensors, and CAD-based process simulation tools.
  • Problem-Solver Extraordinaire:
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex production challenges and implement sustainable solutions. Expertise in conducting root cause analysis and delivering measurable results.
  • Collaborative Leader:
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects.
  • Passion for fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation.
