ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide, among other things.
Our plant is known for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that enable us to meet several industrial analyses needs on a daily basis.
By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec (Canada), you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering team. You will oversee and guide the development of instruments in the space and defense (SDS) domain.
You must ensure their successful and on-time delivery, within budget and in compliance with quality and safety guidelines.
The engineer or scientist we seek has a strong sense of reasoning, is autonomous, can work within a multidisciplinary team and has experience with research and development for system conception and analysis for space instrument.

Key Responsibilities
- Client & Team Collaboration: Work directly with project managers and clients to understand and refine requirements; coordinate a multidisciplinary team using Agile methodology.
- Project Planning & Tracking: Plan short-term schedules, follow up on technical actions, and support strategic planning and cost tracking.
- Systems Engineering Oversight: Manage system requirements, design, compliance, performance, and technical risks.
- Process Improvement: Document current methods, suggest improvements, and assist in implementing changes.
- Bilingual Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations in both English and French for clients and internal teams during key project milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (or equivalent) with 12 years of experience as a senior systems engineer or systems leader, particularly in infrared optical instrumentation for space or remote sensing.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and documentation abilities, including product configuration management.
- Skilled in JIRA, Windchill, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fully bilingual in French and English; French is required, and English is essential for communication with clients outside Quebec.
