You will be responsible for managing and growing Makita sales revenue within the defined territory through the proper execution of Makita's strategic initiatives and sales programs. Focusing on residential and commercial construction supply accounts and key end-user companies, while overseeing the entire territory sales revenue and account base. You will work with all departments throughout Makita Canada Inc. to assist in a smooth transition for the customer ensuring they are satisfied to the best of Makita’s ability.

You will be responsible for managing and growing Makita sales revenue within the defined territory through the proper execution of Makita's strategic initiatives and sales programs. Focusing on residential and commercial construction supply accounts and key end-user companies, while overseeing the entire territory sales revenue and account base. You will work with all departments throughout Makita Canada Inc. to assist in a smooth transition for the customer ensuring they are satisfied to the best of Makita’s ability.

- Travel throughout assigned territory to establish, maintain, and grow relationships with ongoing and potential customers
- Coordinate activities for customers to ensure they are receiving superior service
- Assist with overall sales growth for Makita Canada including product and brand conversions
- Display and demonstrate Makita products, including performing Makita product knowledge sessions for dealers and other audiences
- Coordinate, schedule, and perform customer support events, including, but not limited to, product demonstration, shows and events, and joint sales calls
- Provide expertise and support regarding pricing, quoting, orders, and other sales support management functions
- Present, execute, and administer Corporate Sales Programs, including co-op, rebates, strategic initiatives, and promotions, along with other corporate programs as needed
- Engage with the Marketing Department to properly utilize and distribute Makita marketing materials (ex. brochures and point-of-purchase materials)
- Keep and submit accurate records of monthly sales reports, call reports, expense reports, odometer reports, and itinerary
- Stay informed of market conditions, changes, and competitor activities within the industry and territory, and communicate findings internally
- Perform all company functions per municipal, provincial, federal laws and company policies
- Other job-related activities, duties, and projects, as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field an asset
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in sales
- Valid drivers licence
- Safe driving record (driver’s abstract required)
- Communication skills (oral and written): communicate in a clear and professional manner, an effective/active listener
- Teamwork: work cooperatively and effectively with a wide range of individuals, successfully build relationships
- Service Orientation: superior customer focused service, build relationship to gain customer loyalty and penetrate accounts in the market
- Planning/organization: ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently, develops realistic action plans including formal presentations
- Problem Solving: identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Strategic Thinking: develop strategies to achieve organizational and sales goals
- Innovation: meets challenges with resourcefulness, generates suggestions for improving work
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge: power tool, residential and commercial construction experience is an asset
- $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year plus commissions
