Sourcing Specialist

Salary: $82,000 - $86,000

Location: Vancouver, BC or Prince George, BC

As a Sourcing Specialist, you will support the transformation of procurement in North America by defining and executing strategic sourcing projects that add measurable value to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll develop and implement commercial sourcing strategies to maximize value while ensuring the right level of governance and risk management for your areas of responsibility.
  • Working collaboratively with internal colleagues including the global procurement team, to ensure procure-to-pay processes and policies are operating effectively.
  • Managing supplier relationships to drive overall best value for Drax.
  • Ensure early procurement engagement with the businesses, through the Source to Contract process (from need identification through contract implementation).
  • Achieving cost savings and additional business benefits to support Procurements important role in value delivery.

About You

You'll possess the following skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Procurement or Project Management qualification preferred, and a post graduate qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Strong technical procurement skills linked with an ability to drive best practice, alongside excellent negotiation skills and the ability to consider opportunities for innovation.
  • Comfortability with proactively challenging stakeholders and demand, while providing a prompt, efficient and personalized service to internal customers at all levels.
  • Ensure that customer needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained.
  • Ensure departmental policies and processes are communicated and followed.
  • Self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment.
  • The ability to identify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritize workload effectively is essential.
