We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Corporate Services team and support our construction operations by applying your expertise to various Corporate Services business initiatives. About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Operations and Design. As a UX/UI Designer for Graham’s IT & Enterprise Applications team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences and interfaces for internal applications and custom development products. In this full-time role, you'll bring your expertise in design to improve and test intuitive, user-friendly solutions, contributing to the organization's technological and operational excellence.

As a UX/UI Designer on the IT & Enterprise Applications team at Graham you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into user-centric and visually engaging designs
  • Create and refine prototypes and user interfaces following company design standards and best practices
  • Partner with development teams to implement UI elements and optimize the user journey, ensuring design meets the needs of the end user
  • Participate in planning sessions focused on product lifecycle, risk mitigation, and user adoption/change management strategies
  • Apply scrum methodology to adapt to changing project requirements with sustained momentum
  • Document design decisions, product requirements, and user research findings to support continuous improvement
  • Conduct business in line with Graham policies and guidelines
  • Engage directly with user groups to assess their needs and ensure designs align with their workflow
  • Support training efforts to promote user adoption of new tools and designs
  • Advocate for usability heuristic principles to improve overall user experience

  • Expertly use design software to create high-quality designs and prototypes
  • Adhere to and advocate for company design standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all design outputs

Effective Communication

  • Clearly articulate design concepts, ideas, and rationale to non-designers, including developers, product managers, and executives
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback effectively, using it to refine and enhance design solutions
  • Use wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to visually communicate ideas and design solutions to stakeholders

Curiosity

  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve design practices
  • Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points, and use these insights to inform design decisions
  • Experiment with new design approaches and methodologies to find innovative solutions to design challenges

Customer Focus

  • Prioritize user needs and usability principles in all design decisions, ensuring that the product is intuitive and user-friendly
  • Engage directly with user groups to assess their needs and ensure designs align with their workflow
  • Advocate for user needs in discussions with stakeholders, ensuring that design solutions enhance the overall user experience

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Digital Design, Visual Design, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital design working with both mobile and desktop development and/or data visualization and reporting design
  • Experience working in an agile, product-based environment
  • Proficient with design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Figma)
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
